Summer '08

I spent most of the summer moving, designing and building my new studio in Brooklyn, South Williamsburg to be exact. It's a big difference form the east village, but it's great.

The new studio is hybrid analog/digital mix room. Pro Tools 34/36 I/O front end with 32 discrete channels of Dangerous analog summing. Apogee interfaces, Antelope clocking, Lavry converters, API dynamics, Grace Design monitor system, and Hot House amps and monitors make it an incredibly detailed and accurate room. I could not have it any other way...I mean really I would kill myself having to play low end/low midrange guessing games again. I spent about 3 months planning and designing the 200 sqft room and about 2 weeks constructing new walls. Drywall is tough, hats off to guys that do that everyday, two weeks was enough for me. Many thanks to Brian Charles at Sonic Cricus and Bryan Pape at GIK for all the advice and patience. I am still tweaking it, but it sounds great. I had some time to work with Bob Dylans' MD and bassist Tony Garnier this summer. I engineered some tracks for a new female artist he is producing, Caitlyn Holowaty. I also produced a track for Long Island artist Jake Incao that was featured in Brooke Ellison's doc' "Hope Deferred" about stem cell research. I have also recently started mixing tracks from Israeli artist Passport, the first stuff to come out of my new room.
